In the background Name Extractor uses a Named Entity Recognition (NER) algorithm developed by the Stanford NLP Group.
This algorithm processes the text and labels sequences of words in a text which are the names of things (names of people, locations, organizations). The core of the algorithm is the classifier which has been trained on training data.
The current version of Name Extractor usesa a classifier that supports English only. There are many classifiers available, some of them supporting languages such as German, Spanish, Chinese.
